Sri Louise

Sri Louise was originally introduced to Hatha yoga at the Jivamukti center in NYC, where she cites Allison West as her first and most influential teacher. Sri is an inspirational teacher in her own right, who has been devoted to her practice for the last 17 years and has been teaching for 16.

Sri lived and studied extensively in India from 1998-2000. It was there that she met her teacher Swami Dayananda Sarasvati, under whose spiritual tutelage she studies Vedanta, Samskrtam and Vedic Heritage.

Sri is greatly inspired by the literary mythology of Hinduism, the healing system of Ayurveda and by the religious fervor of bhakti/devotion. She is however, most faithful to the vision of the self as revealed through the Upanisads.

Sri Louise is the visionary behind and the resident yogini of the Underground Yoga Parlour for Self-Knowledge and Social Justice in San Francisco where she teaches on-going classes in Hatha Yoga, Sanskrit chanting and the Bhagavad Gita.

The Parlour is deeply concerned with the preservation of dharma and promotes spiritual activism for social change.

Exalt Your Yoga is a unique training program designed to foster an ontological appreciation of ourselves, the world we live in and Isvara, God.
